A Family Weekend in the Vietnamese Countryside, from Hanoi
A weekend where the kids can run outside, get their hands dirty and sleep well.
Family watching sunset over the tea hills of Phu Tho
Living in Hanoi with children means traffic, apartments and screens. Many expat and travelling families tell us the same thing: they want a weekend where the kids can run outside, get their hands dirty and sleep well. Ngoc Dong Eco Village is built for that kind of weekend.
WHAT CHILDREN LOVE HERE
- Picking in the garden. Kids pick vegetables and herbs with a basket, then see them on the dinner table.
- Tea picking on the hill. Short and easy for small legs, with real tea makers.
- The pool. An infinity pool facing the tea hills.
- Space to play. A wooden deck for board games, paths to walk, a lotus pond to look at.
- Fishing and billiards for older children.
Guests making tea at Ngoc DongA SIMPLE TWO-DAY PLAN
- Day 1: leave Hanoi in the morning, lunch in the stilt house, afternoon at the pool, sunset on the tea hill deck, early dinner.
- Day 2: garden picking after breakfast, tea making, lunch, drive back before the evening traffic.
ROOMS FOR FAMILIES
Two of our rooms have two beds (1.6 x 2 m each), which suits a family of four. Larger families, or two families travelling together, can take the stilt house.

The kitchen can make simpler, less spicy dishes for children. Tell us their ages and any allergies when you book.
GETTING HERE WITH KIDS
The drive takes a few hours, depending on traffic and where you start. Ask us about a car from your home or hotel in Hanoi. The last part of the road winds through the hills, so bring motion-sickness tablets if your children need them.
